So throughout July, I’ve dabbled with the vegan thing - mostly been eating 100% vegan, but have definitely had slip-ups here and there. Tomorrow marks the beginning of August, the beginning of a month and hopefully a lifetime of no more excuses, going vegan. Staying focused. Lately I’ve had zero desire to drink or party, and it’s the drinking that usually causes me to end up eating something with dairy in it (hangovers, bleh).
This month I want to get back into the joys of cooking, without animal products. Plan ahead, spend more time at home, and enjoy this last month of summer with more outdoor physical activity and the feeling of overall good health.

In addition, I’ll be giving up chips for the month, as they’ve become a go-to snack food and it just is not healthy. Including potato chips and tortilla chips. I won’t be buying beer. I have some beer leftover that I might have at some point, but as far as buying alcohol, if I have a party to attend or something I’ll get wine. I tend to pace myself better with wine.

The only problem I have is that I get a lot of free food from work. and sometimes it contains egg (such as veggie “buffalo wings” or broccoli bites). I am not in a financial position to say no to free food right now - and these foods would be thrown out if I didn’t take them home. SO, I feel that it is in the best interest to consume them - but NOT buy them. I get to take stuff home when it expires. I suppose in a sense this is a freegan mentality. It works for me. Never any meat though.

I hope to be posting more on here, but I might be too busy hiking and canoeing. :) We will see!
